Pentecost is the day 50 days after Easter. 13 00:01:24.000 --> 00:01:32.000 And in the book of Acts, it was when the day of Pentecost had fully come that the Holy Spirit was given. 14 00:01:32.000 --> 00:01:39.000 And so as a Bible-believing, full gospel, spirit-filled church, this is a day that we celebrate. 15 00:01:39.000 --> 00:01:45.000 And what exactly are we celebrating? We're celebrating the giving of the Holy Spirit. 16 00:01:45.000 --> 00:01:54.000 In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit wasn't given like He was in the New Testament, to totally separate covenants. 17 00:01:54.000 --> 00:02:02.000 Does God change? No. God is forever the same, but His way in dealing with a man has changed from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant. 18 00:02:02.000 --> 00:02:09.000 Under the Old Covenant, you never had your sins forgiven. You never had them completely taken out of the way. You just had them covered. 19 00:02:09.000 --> 00:02:21.000 And so the Holy Spirit never ever came in and dwelt man. He would just temporarily cover some people for an assignment, for a unique job. 20 00:02:21.000 --> 00:02:28.000 But under the New Covenant, all your sins are taken out of the way. God imputes His righteousness to you. 21 00:02:28.000 --> 00:02:36.000 You have a brand new spirit, your new creation, and then the Holy Spirit, the very spirit of God comes and indwells you and lives inside of you. 22 00:02:36.000 --> 00:02:40.000 And that's pretty significant, don't you think? And that's when the church was birthed. 23 00:02:40.000 --> 00:02:48.000 And it's completely different than what was available under the Old Covenant, the indwelling of God. 24 00:02:48.000 --> 00:02:59.000 And so we're celebrating that today. And there's two main purposes to this message. One, because a lot of people don't know. 25 00:02:59.000 --> 00:03:06.000 One, it's to teach people that there is such a thing as the baptism of the Holy Spirit. 26 00:03:06.000 --> 00:03:24.000 There is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. You can be a believer, you can be called it saved, born again, heaven bound, be a friend of God, and still not have been baptized with the Holy Spirit, which means that there's more for you, and maybe you don't even know it. 27 00:03:24.000 --> 00:03:33.000 And today will be your opportunity to receive. We had a glorious first service. So many people were filled with the Holy Spirit. 28 00:03:33.000 --> 00:03:42.000 And two, there's another purpose to this message, and that's to teach Christians who are baptized in the Holy Spirit, how to lead others into the baptism of the Holy Spirit. 29 00:03:42.000 --> 00:03:51.000 You can do a Bible study with somebody, because most Christians, if they just knew, if you opened up the Word to them, they would want all that God has for them, but they don't know. 30 00:03:51.000 --> 00:03:57.000 And how will they know, unless you be sent? And you open your mouth and teach them. 31 00:03:57.000 --> 00:04:07.000 So the baptism of the Holy Spirit is very, very important. I want to show you scripturally how much Jesus talked about it and why it's so important. 32 00:04:07.000 --> 00:04:29.000 So let's go to Luke. This is Jesus after having been resurrected, one of his final words, Luke 24 and 49, because we should give, we should put emphasis and give priority to things that Jesus put an emphasis on. 33 00:04:29.000 --> 00:04:40.000 Don't you agree? Like, how do you know if it churches off balance? Well, if they're talking about 90% of the time talking about something that Jesus really never addressed, they're probably off balance. 34 00:04:40.000 --> 00:04:50.000 But when Jesus places great emphasis on receiving the Holy Spirit, that means, wow, we should too. Isn't that fair? That sounds logical. 35 00:04:50.000 --> 00:05:06.000 So Jesus, after his resurrection, he tells his disciples, the guys probably that needed the least amount of training, because they had a front row seat to his ministry. They could ask questions in private. 36 00:05:06.000 --> 00:05:21.000 And he says, behold, I send the promise of my father upon you, but Terry, or wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are in dude with power from on high. He's talking about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. 37 00:05:21.000 --> 00:05:39.000 Now what's fascinating to me is, you would think the disciples would have been ready, right? Three and a half years with Jesus, front row seat, looking at every miracle, and they got like the all access pass, the VIP, like after he was done, they would privately take him to the side and ask questions, like how awesome was that? 38 00:05:39.000 --> 00:05:49.000 And even still, Jesus is basically saying, you're not ready yet. You just one more thing, you got to be filled with the Holy Spirit. 39 00:05:49.000 --> 00:05:58.000 So if his disciples who spent every single day with him for three, three and a half years needed to be filled with the Holy Spirit, how much more do we? 40 00:05:58.000 --> 00:06:06.000 How much more does every single believer, every single Christian need to receive the Holy Spirit? Be baptized in the Holy Spirit. 41 00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:18.000 They're making these different terms, they all mean the same thing. But different people think they mean different things. Well, I received the Holy Spirit, but I wasn't baptized. Well, I was filled, you know, seven years ago, no, it's one term. 42 00:06:18.000 --> 00:06:32.000 You're filled, baptized, received, and I want to show you scripturally that something happens, scripturally speaking when you're filled, when you receive, when you're baptized, and it's the same thing. 43 00:06:32.000 --> 00:06:35.000 Amen. 44 00:06:35.000 --> 00:06:47.000 So some of you see the ones who know where I'm going with this, you're like, you're excited. I feel like, but the ones who seem to be real deer and headlights are the ones who don't know where I'm going with this. 45 00:06:47.000 --> 00:06:59.000 But you don't know, this is all actually catering to you. You're going to have the opportunity of a lifetime, right? As I'm about to close the service. And I trust you will make a decision, it's going to change your life forever. 46 00:06:59.000 --> 00:07:21.000 Nothing is the same once you're baptized in the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. Acts 1-8. Once again, Jesus in His resurrected state, His final words. Pay attention to someone's final words. It means they're pretty important. 47 00:07:21.000 --> 00:07:42.000 He's got one more message for them. He says, but you shall receive power. The Greek word dunamis, dynamite. There's a lot of powerless Christians. It should not be so. It's not supposed to be so. But you can be a spirit-filled Christian, filled with the power of God. Amen. Hallelujah. 48 00:07:42.000 --> 00:08:03.000 Where does the power come from, the source of all power, the spirit of God, who wants to indwell every believer. When I'm listening to a preacher within 20 seconds, I know if they're filled with the Holy Spirit or not. There are many preachers. They're never been baptized in the Holy Spirit. Yes, they're going to go to heaven. Yes, they have their sins forgiven. But it's like they're missing something. 49 00:08:03.000 --> 00:08:18.000 You know, it's like they got a squirt gun and a preacher with the infilling of the Holy Ghost has a double barrel shotgun. There is a difference in oomph and it has nothing to do with destible level. So people think like anointing equals loudness. 50 00:08:18.000 --> 00:08:42.000 And then John Arnut comes and anointing dripping all over him and he's like, hello, everybody. No, but it has to do with that touch of God, with that power of heaven that seems to be backing them up and bringing the words that they preach right home. Hallelujah. 51 00:08:43.000 --> 00:09:11.000 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Amen. So it's an empowerment. It's an empowerment for every area of life, but in particular to be a witness, to share your faith, to see others come to Christ. 52 00:09:11.000 --> 00:09:29.000 Hallelujah. So that passage in Luke and that this passage, this verse in Acts, I just wanted to show you that Jesus put an emphasis on the baptism in the Holy Spirit. In other words, it's not like something supplementary. 53 00:09:29.000 --> 00:09:53.000 He didn't say, hey, boys, you know, when you get around to it, maybe if it's not too scary for you, like be filled with the Holy Spirit. But I don't want to put pressure on you. If you get around to it, he said, hey, go now and wait in Jerusalem until you get filled until you get the baptism in the Holy Ghost. 54 00:09:53.000 --> 00:10:19.000 And then you'll be empowered. Then you'll go out. Hallelujah. So because this message, this message, I feel when I first became a Christian, you heard this message everywhere. And I would say on average, your average spirit filled believer knew how to communicate this quite well. And then just like something change, you know, like the lasers and fog machines came. 55 00:10:19.000 --> 00:10:39.000 And this is really non-offensive only. I love being non-offensive if I can. But truth is oftentimes offensive. But this non-offensive, excuse me, win some version of Christianity. Everything's got to be win some. 56 00:10:39.000 --> 00:11:00.000 That came around and anything that was potentially problematic or offensive, you know, the greatest sin in the church became offense. Well, Paul calls the very gospel and offense on a stumbling block. I mean, the message of your sinner, your loss, you can't even help it. Your powerless to save yourself. You need to rely on Jesus. That's offensive. 57 00:11:01.000 --> 00:11:12.000 We don't stop reaching that. But there was this weird shift culturally and anything that would make people uncomfortable or if it would be offensive, that kind of went out the window. 58 00:11:12.000 --> 00:11:22.000 And we better not let that go out the window because we can lose the truth of the baptism and the Holy Ghost in one generation if it's not being preached. 59 00:11:23.000 --> 00:11:34.000 Hallelujah. It needs to be preached. So let's begin now. You thought we began an hour beginning. That was just like the appetizer. John chapter four versus 13 through 14. 60 00:11:34.000 --> 00:11:45.000 I'm doing a lot of teaching this morning. It won't be any stories. I want to do a lot of teaching because it really doesn't matter what my opinion is. 61 00:11:45.000 --> 00:11:58.000 What matters is what the scriptures say. And so I want you to be filled with a lot of scriptures. You may use them. I don't feel like that's true. I love you. But who cares about your feelings? 62 00:11:58.000 --> 00:12:11.000 Some people, they're just completely emotional. Well, I feel they can't even start a sentence with. Well, I feel that we're going to base your eternal destiny on feelings. 63 00:12:11.000 --> 00:12:32.000 I just shared with you. I didn't feel like going to church this morning. Imagine if I just did whatever I felt like. Jesus. Emily knows that'd be nothing in that refrigerator. If I just did whatever I felt like. She'd be going to Trader Joe's every day. 64 00:12:32.000 --> 00:12:43.000 Oh, our feelings go up and down all around. I'll tell you what doesn't change the Holy Word of God. Our feelings change all the time. Jesus. 65 00:12:43.000 --> 00:12:54.000 Here he's sitting on a well, talking to the woman at the well. Funny site well on top of the well. Get it. Jesus is a well sitting on a well. That was funnier in my head. 66 00:12:54.000 --> 00:13:02.000 Jesus answered and said to her, whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, probably gesticulating to the well he's sitting on. 67 00:13:02.000 --> 00:13:13.000 But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain. 68 00:13:13.000 --> 00:13:29.000 Now, do me a favor and just say that word fountain. We're doing a little compare and contrast. I want to show you two different two very separate things. Jesus is talking about here. He's talking about a fountain. 69 00:13:29.000 --> 00:13:48.000 He's talking about salvation. You know who a fountain is for? It's for you. You drink from the fountain of eternal life. This is what's known as a salvation anointing and eternal life anointing. It's a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. 70 00:13:48.000 --> 00:14:12.000 Once again, there are two distinct experiences. One experience. This is what people miss. In the right corner. We have salvation. We have been born again. We have having your sins forgiven. That's all coming to the Lord. That's a fountain. That's one experience. 71 00:14:12.000 --> 00:14:34.000 In the other corner, we have something completely different known as the baptism of the Holy Spirit or being filled with the Holy Spirit or receiving the Holy Spirit. Here's the problem. A lot of people in this corner, when they become Christian, they think they already have everything there is for them to have. 72 00:14:34.000 --> 00:14:46.000 They get jipped. They get robbed. If you think you have everything there is to have, then you're kind of not hungry and you're not even looking for something better. 73 00:14:46.000 --> 00:15:10.000 And so you spend your whole life like if I only had soup, bone broth with no salt, no pepper, not even a dash of Tabasco, but that's all I knew, right? I'm robbed. And I'm like, oh, no, this is good. And you come around. You're like, this guy doesn't know what he's missing. You come around like salt, been like, bam, throw a little salt on there. Yeah, a little bit of pepper, too. 74 00:15:10.000 --> 00:15:31.000 And I'm like, oh, my eyes go, what is this was just some salt. I didn't even put the good stuff in yet. And I didn't even know soup could be so delicious. Yeah, you didn't even know. You didn't even know that Christianity could be so awesome. You didn't even know that a relationship with the Lord, you're over in coach with the first class ticket. 75 00:15:31.000 --> 00:15:43.000 You know what first classes like that? Why are you coach? Your knees are touching your chin. You're in the middle. You can't even go to the bathroom because the big huge guy to your left fell asleep. 76 00:15:43.000 --> 00:15:55.000 You don't want to crawl over him, but you got a first class ticket. That sure goes all the way horizontal. You got access to 500. You're in the Emirates first class. You got a little shower. 77 00:15:55.000 --> 00:16:14.000 They keep coming around with caviar, no limit. And you're in coach with a TV dinner. They got caviar in Emirates in first class. Why are you in coach? Nobody told you that your ticket actually was a first class ticket. You just sat down in coach. 78 00:16:14.000 --> 00:16:28.000 So one thing we have here, salvation is a fountain of water, right fountain. That's John 414. We're just going to fast forward three chapters to John 737. 79 00:16:28.000 --> 00:16:43.000 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out saying, if anyone thirsts, similar analogy, right? Similar typology. If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 80 00:16:43.000 --> 00:17:03.000 He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow what? So we're comparing and contrasting, right? What was the first word? Fountain in this corner. And he, you don't got to say that I'm just saying fountain is in this corner. 81 00:17:03.000 --> 00:17:18.000 And he defines it. He says it's a fountain, springing up into everlasting life. Then we have in the far corner, in the left corner, not a fountain, but reverse. 82 00:17:19.000 --> 00:17:30.000 Reverse is a reverse of living water. Can you go back, please? I didn't finish reading and you're given away my punchline. 83 00:17:31.000 --> 00:17:41.000 But he who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow reverse of living water. 84 00:17:41.000 --> 00:17:50.000 Now you're ready read it, right? The punchline was given away and I know media. I know you don't know what I'm going to do. If you didn't do that, it'd be like, come on, keep up, right? And then you do that. I'm like, well, too fast. 85 00:17:51.000 --> 00:18:05.000 It's terrible. Terrible. But I'm bringing it to the cross. The 2026 is the year. That is my year. I'm going to get better at loving on the media department. I am. Everybody has their thorn in the flesh. 86 00:18:06.000 --> 00:18:24.000 I'm working progress. So it's great when Jesus and the Bible define what he's saying. Sometimes in the scriptures, you don't get that. And you got to search the scriptures. 87 00:18:25.000 --> 00:18:39.000 Oh, this is probably what he meant because it's similar in this passage. But here you don't have to wonder if you're wondering, hey, what are rivers? What is Jesus talking about? What if past your bow is misleading? He's making it all about the Holy Spirit. Maybe Jesus is just talking about a river. 88 00:18:41.000 --> 00:18:50.000 Jesus and the Bible defines what he meant. It says, but this he spoke. But this he spoke concerning the spirit. 89 00:18:51.000 --> 00:19:00.000 So in this corner, you have a fountain. You have salvation available to all. In this corner, also available to all is not a fountain. Fountains are nice. 90 00:19:00.000 --> 00:19:09.000 But if you ask me, do you want a fountain or do you want rivers? I'd be like, I want rivers. Rivers are for me and for others. Hallelujah. I want rivers. 91 00:19:10.000 --> 00:19:25.000 You want coach? You want first class? I want first class. If both are available, it is not humility to say, no, go on coach. He paid for this with his own blood. He purchased it with his own blood. And it's available to all. 92 00:19:25.000 --> 00:19:40.000 He spoke. The rivers are the spirit whom those believing in him would receive for the Holy Spirit was not yet given. See, the Holy Spirit wasn't yet given. You'll see the works of the Holy Spirit before the crucifixion and the resurrection. 93 00:19:40.000 --> 00:19:48.000 But he wasn't given like he was in the book of Acts on the day of Pentecost for him to dwell in all of us. 94 00:19:48.000 --> 00:20:00.000 Because Jesus was not yet glorified, crucified and resurrected. Amen. So let's look and letting the scripture define the scripture. Let's look at the first time the Holy Spirit was given. 95 00:20:00.000 --> 00:20:15.000 Acts 2, how can you celebrate the day of Pentecost without reading the day of Pentecost? And I want you, I want you just to again let the scriptures define the scriptures. 96 00:20:15.000 --> 00:20:25.000 They really speak for themselves concerning the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. And see what happened then. That's what's available to happen today. 97 00:20:25.000 --> 00:20:40.000 When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in agreement in one place in this upper room. And suddenly, and that's how God is. See, you thought it was going to be a memorial day Sunday. I wonder what he'll preach on. 98 00:20:40.000 --> 00:20:49.000 And you don't know, it was a day of Pentecost. And you came in, you're thinking of being another service and you're going to walk out of your field with the Holy Spirit. It's a suddenly for you. 99 00:20:49.000 --> 00:20:59.000 Suddenly. Suddenly, they came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind. And it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 100 00:20:59.000 --> 00:21:12.000 Then there appeared to them divided tongues as a fire and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues. 101 00:21:12.000 --> 00:21:24.000 What are other tongues? It's a language you never ever learned, no one ever taught it to, but you speak it as the Holy Spirit gives you the action. 102 00:21:24.000 --> 00:21:32.000 It doesn't possess you and speak through you. You do the talking. He gives you the words. He gives you the action. 103 00:21:32.000 --> 00:21:49.000 And it doesn't have to be weird. Maybe you were up at 3 a.m. We're on YouTube. So some church in Appalachia. They were shoeless, dancing around with snakes, speaking in tongues. And you go, that's enough for me. Me neither. 104 00:21:49.000 --> 00:22:07.000 But you can actually speak in tongues and be normal. Some people are just weird. And those the weird ones that we have, we have to be honest. 105 00:22:08.000 --> 00:22:22.000 I used to be one of them. Really. I was like chasing after God so hard for a few years I got a little weird. Not like Dr. Trianilly weird, just like socially weird. 106 00:22:22.000 --> 00:22:29.000 Someone's thinking it's not much better. Trust me. You might think that, but I am. I've gotten a lot better. 107 00:22:29.000 --> 00:22:42.000 But you can speak in tongues like a maniac. And people get turned off and go, that's not for me. But you don't have to be that way. 108 00:22:42.000 --> 00:22:50.000 You can yield to the Holy Spirit and speak in a normal voice like I just did. I don't even know what I'm going to say next. 109 00:22:50.000 --> 00:22:59.000 The Holy Spirit gives you the next word. You say, what are you saying? I don't know. And that's okay. Paul said he didn't know either. 110 00:22:59.000 --> 00:23:08.000 He said, when I pray in the spirit, my understanding is not fruitful. But in the spirit, I speak mysteries. What is the purpose of speaking in tongues? 111 00:23:09.000 --> 00:23:18.000 You don't know what you're saying, which is actually a feature, not a bug. Because if you knew what you were saying, you probably shut it down. 112 00:23:18.000 --> 00:23:30.000 Your panicking, anxiety, written mind shouldn't know. But you're praying the perfect prayer, the perfect will of God to him in another tongue that you can't understand. 113 00:23:30.000 --> 00:23:40.000 And this is scriptural. In Corinthians 14, he says, I don't know what I'm praying, but I know I'm giving thanks well, and I know I'm edifying or strengthening myself. 114 00:23:40.000 --> 00:23:47.000 And anyone filled with the Holy Spirit should speak in tongues every single day. How long? I don't know. Have fun. 115 00:23:47.000 --> 00:23:55.000 Yeah. Don't be all religious about it. Just have fun. 116 00:23:55.000 --> 00:24:10.000 Oh, great. It was up there. Let's go back to, we did Acts chapter two. Let's go to Acts chapter eight to show what an emphasis the early church placed on this. 117 00:24:10.000 --> 00:24:23.000 And if you've heard this message before, which if you've been coming for a while, this is one of the probably the only message I have. I lock down like it's Pentecost Sunday and preaching this message. 118 00:24:23.000 --> 00:24:32.000 And there's other messages I can reprieche and it comes across very different. But I don't know how to preach this any different. I really don't. 119 00:24:32.000 --> 00:24:43.000 I've led so I have experimented. I tried to preach this 100 different ways and one on one and leading people in the baptism. And this I found just works works the best. 120 00:24:43.000 --> 00:24:58.000 So Acts chapter eight. It says the Samaria. Andrew that the Apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God. That means this entire region called Samaria had gotten saved. 121 00:24:58.000 --> 00:25:13.000 And when they heard that, they sent Peter and John to them. Now hold on. Not Philip, the disciple. Awesome guy. Andrew. Here's a disciple. You hear his name a few times, but like you don't really know what he did, right? 122 00:25:13.000 --> 00:25:29.000 But Peter and John, you know, they're like the 18. There are those top tier disciples, the famous ones. The ones who really got the job done. So something so important, they had to send Peter and John to them. Why? 123 00:25:29.000 --> 00:25:38.000 Next verse, they sent Peter and John to a region, Samaria, that had already received the word of God. They got saved. But why? 124 00:25:39.000 --> 00:25:55.000 Man, she really wants to keep her in that cliffhanger. Why? Why? Why exactly? Why? Who when they had come down prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit? 125 00:25:55.000 --> 00:26:02.000 Yeah. So this is so important that they sent Peter and John to them. 126 00:26:03.000 --> 00:26:16.000 Today, churches don't really function like this. They should. But if I, if I, if I was in Serbia and said, hey, listen, I was in this village in Serbia. And the whole village received the word of God, they got saved. 127 00:26:16.000 --> 00:26:21.000 How many of you go, I wonder if they got baptized in the Holy Spirit also? 128 00:26:21.000 --> 00:26:37.000 Yet the early apostles weren't content with just step one this corner. They immediately pushed and said, no, get everything that Jesus has for you. Why settle for 50%. Why settle for 80%. Why settle for coach? You got first class. 129 00:26:37.000 --> 00:26:53.000 They sent Peter and John to them to put him in first class. For as yet, the Holy Spirit had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized. So they were baptized. In case someone said, well, how do you know they were all saved? They were baptized. You don't baptize unsaved people. 130 00:26:53.000 --> 00:27:09.000 You don't baptize unregenerate people. They were baptized. But they weren't baptized in the Holy Spirit. They were baptized in water. The water baptism. Some people confused it too. I'll say, are you baptized in the Holy Spirit? Yeah, I was baptized. And then they tell me about their water baptism. 131 00:27:09.000 --> 00:27:21.000 No, baptism in the Holy Spirit is separate. What baptized just means to be immersed. You were immersed in water. How you got to be immersed in the Holy Spirit? Yeah. 132 00:27:21.000 --> 00:27:41.000 All right. So what happened when they were filled with the Holy Spirit? It says they laid hands on them. So Peter and John go to Samaria. They lay hands on these Samarians. And they receive the Holy Spirit next verse. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles, hands, the Holy Spirit was given. 133 00:27:41.000 --> 00:27:54.000 Note that Simon saw something. Do you know why he saw something? Because there was something to see. There was a manifestation, brilliant preaching, right? 134 00:27:54.000 --> 00:28:16.000 Simon saw something because there was something to see. Yeah. Oh, it's funny. But yet, I'll ask somebody who said, went through confirmation. I said, I was filled with the Holy Spirit when at confirmation. Well, what happened? Well, the priest made a sign of the cross and told me I had the Holy Spirit. Well, what happened? Well, nothing happened. That's what happened. Well, that's not, there's no manifestation there. 135 00:28:16.000 --> 00:28:32.000 See, Biblically speaking, there was something to see, something to hear. Acts chapter two, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And what was the initial physical manifestation? They spoke in other tongues. Here, Simon saw something. 136 00:28:32.000 --> 00:28:39.000 I'm going to lead. I'm going to just lead you and show you every time someone received the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts. While Peter was still speaking these words, Peter's preaching to a bunch of Gentiles, non Jews. And actually, he had just finished preaching and announced the forgiveness of all sins. It's just interesting when the Holy Spirit came. 138 00:29:01.000 --> 00:29:17.000 The Holy Spirit loves the message of the gospel. Loves the message of the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus. It was right when he announced the forgiveness of sins. He went, and what interrupted, Peter's awesome preaching. 139 00:29:17.000 --> 00:29:31.000 Holy Ghost, may you more frequently interrupt me. Interrupt, interrupt, interrupt. Yes, Lord. The Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 140 00:29:31.000 --> 00:29:52.000 What is going on? Those of the circumcision, the Jews who believed were astonished as many as came with Peter. Because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. I want to ask you a question. 141 00:29:52.000 --> 00:30:06.000 How did they know the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Gentiles also? How did they know? Did Paul or Peter just turn and go, hey, trust me, bro, it happened. 142 00:30:06.000 --> 00:30:18.000 You know, if I said, you know, my wife here, I'll just use an example, you know, be filled with the Holy Spirit. You got him, you got him. Well, how do I know? Trust me, bro. 143 00:30:18.000 --> 00:30:32.000 Trust me. Take my word for it. That's not it. And I'm sorry. How did they know they were filled with the Holy Spirit? Was it just take someone's word for it? No. They themselves saw a manifestation. They themselves saw evidence. 146 00:31:07.000 --> 00:31:36.000 Someone said, what about the fruit of the Spirit? That's the real evidence. That's also evidence. But you don't now conflate the two. It didn't say that they were filled with the Holy Spirit and started being patient and kind than any of that. Alright, stop it with your nonsense. It says they spoke in tongues. Then comes the goodness, patience, kindness, love, meekness, all that. But the initial physical evidence for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. 147 00:31:36.000 --> 00:31:52.000 Then Peter answered, can anyone forbid water that these should not be baptized who have received the, listen how he says it, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have. Peter is saying, I recognize what's happening here. 148 00:31:52.000 --> 00:32:04.000 The Holy Spirit came up on this group of non Jews. They all start speaking in tongues. They received the Holy Spirit just like we did back in Acts 2. Hallelujah. 149 00:32:04.000 --> 00:32:26.000 So Acts chapter 2, it says they spoke in tongues. Acts chapter 8, it doesn't say they spoke in tongues, but it says Simon saw something. Acts chapter 10, it says they spoke in tongues. And I'm not cherry picking scriptures. We're going through every instance of someone receiving the Holy Spirit being baptized in the Holy Spirit in the whole book of Acts, the whole New Testament. 150 00:32:26.000 --> 00:32:47.000 You go, wow, how many is there left? Just one. Acts 19, there's four examples of it. Acts 19 and verse 1, and it happened while Apollo was at Corinth that Paul having passed through the upper regions came to Ephesus and finding some disciples that he said were Christian. 151 00:32:48.000 --> 00:33:02.000 He said to them, what a question. Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Most Christians don't ask other Christians this. It's too uncomfortable. Could be too offensive. 152 00:33:03.000 --> 00:33:22.000 And so a lot of Christians are at a loss because they don't even know what they're missing because no one provoked them and asked them this question. It's wonderful that you believe. Yes, your sins are forgiven you. Yes, your friend, the God. Yes, your heaven bound. But why are you in coach? Why are you? 153 00:33:22.000 --> 00:33:51.000 I don't, maybe I shouldn't use that example because I don't want anyone to think their second class. But why are you eating bone broth with no salt? Put some salt and pepper in there. Kick it up a notch. It's right there. It's right there for the taste. It's right there, the kitchen counter. Just a little dash. You don't even know. Let me tell you. Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? And they said to him, we have not so much as heard that salt and pepper exists. 154 00:33:53.000 --> 00:34:11.000 Verse three. And he said to them into what then where you baptized and they said into John's baptism, then Paul said, John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on him who would come after him. That is on Christ Jesus. 155 00:34:11.000 --> 00:34:39.000 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them and they waived banners in the air and they cried and they started manifesting goodness, patience, kindness, meat. No, they spoke in tongues. They spoke in tongues. They spoke in tongues and prophesied. 156 00:34:39.000 --> 00:35:08.000 So for example, in the book of Acts of people getting filled with the Holy Spirit, three out of four explicitly say the receiver of the Holy Spirit spoke in tongues. That's enough for doctrine to establish doctrine. The Bible says out of the mouth of two or three witnesses, let everything be established. That's enough. The fourth scripture, it doesn't say they spoke in tongues, but guess what it is since Simon saw Peter and John are going on a prayer line laying hands on people. 157 00:35:08.000 --> 00:35:24.000 People start speaking in tongues and Simon the sorcerer and he actually was a sorcerer, which is really weird that his last name is the same as what he did. 158 00:35:24.000 --> 00:35:36.000 Thank you. So I'm going to open up the altar in about 60 seconds. The Lord has put a grace on my life. I don't say, when have you ever heard me say, I got a real gift from heaven in this area. But when did you hear me say, I don't. But really in this, he has. He's given me a gift. And because for years, I pressed into it when I was in college many years ago. 160 00:36:02.000 --> 00:36:15.000 I would see people wanting the Holy Spirit praying for like hours and hours. And I said, Lord, this doesn't have to be this way. Let it be like it is in the Bible, where I just lay my hands on. And that's what happened this morning, lay my hands on people. And they'll be instantly filled. 161 00:36:15.000 --> 00:36:24.000 So I'm going to make an invitation for people who have never been baptized in the Holy Spirit, never spoken in tongues to come up and get filled. 162 00:36:24.000 --> 00:36:39.000 Do not worry. The Holy Spirit would never ever harm you. When you ask for the Holy Spirit, you only get Holy Spirit. Jesus actually said that. Use that an example. You ask for an egg. You won't get a scorpion. Ask for bread. You won't get a snake. 163 00:36:39.000 --> 00:36:52.000 How much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to all who ask? Now, here's a big question. Because Satan right now, as I'm giving this invitation, is raging in your mind. Satan does not want you filled with the Holy Spirit. 164 00:36:52.000 --> 00:37:06.000 So he might say, Oh, not you. God will never give him to you. Well, good news. He doesn't have to give him to you since he's has already past tense given him to you. That happened 2,000 years ago. Don't think like God is in heaven with his Holy Spirit withholding him. 165 00:37:06.000 --> 00:37:25.000 And it gives it to a few select. He has already released him when the day of Pentecost. Happy Pentecost, by the way. 2,000 years ago. And it's up to you to receive. Now, there was a young lady in the first service. She said something. I was like, Oh, yeah, I used to preach that. And then it slipped my mind in the first service. 166 00:37:25.000 --> 00:37:44.000 I don't want it to slip my mind in the second service. She said, I always believed in this. But I thought that it was like when God wills. And a lot of people like that too, like God, like you're going to be minding your own business one day and God's just going to attack you and fill you without you pursuing him and you'll just start speaking in tongues. 167 00:37:44.000 --> 00:37:56.000 You don't see anything in the scriptures like that. You have to run. You have to pursue. You have to be hungry and thirsty. You can't be like, well, you know, if God wants this for me, he'll just make it happen. 168 00:37:56.000 --> 00:38:08.000 That's like the guy in the desert island saying, you know, God, if you want me off the island, deliver me. Meanwhile, he sent a helicopter boat and a ship already. This is it. This is them. You now have to take a step by faith. 169 00:38:08.000 --> 00:38:21.000 Okay, worship team, come on up. You're going to open your mouth and start speaking in other tongues as you're filled with the Holy Spirit. 180 00:40:13.000 --> 00:40:24.000 Do not speak English. Do not speak Spanish. Do not speak any foreign language. You know, you said, what's this is scary? I get this is scary. This is supernatural. 181 00:40:24.000 --> 00:40:33.000 And your flesh is panicking and recoiling right now because it is supernatural. What am I going to say? I don't know. You're going to say a word. 182 00:40:33.000 --> 00:40:44.000 Some of you won't even say a word. You'll just start to stutter. That's okay. The Bible says in Isaiah, it's a prophetic word concerning the baptism with stammering lips and another tongue. Will I speak to this people? 183 00:40:44.000 --> 00:40:57.000 So you might stutter by faith. Say the word. Then say the next word. Don't go back to hallelujah or Jesus. Just say by faith. What is that? It's like your bungee jumping. You don't know. It's a little scary. But you're going to be safe. 184 00:40:57.000 --> 00:41:08.000 Say the next word. But you have to open your mouth because a lot of people come and go on guard to possess them. Nobody ever talk with the mouth closed. So you've got to open your mouth. 185 00:41:08.000 --> 00:41:17.000 And you've got to just stretch out a little bit now that we know how many people we're dealing with so that you don't feel like anyone like self-consciousness will kill this. 186 00:41:17.000 --> 00:41:29.000 You cannot care about anyone other than Jesus right now and him feeling you. Now another thing is remember, he doesn't have to give the Holy Spirit he already has. 187 00:41:29.000 --> 00:41:44.000 The only thing is that you need to receive and you're going to receive the moment I lay my hands upon you. So lift your hands and close your eyes. No fear in Jesus' name. 188 00:41:45.000 --> 00:42:06.000 Oh wow. Now say this in the name of Jesus. I thank you Father that you have filled me with the Holy Spirit. You have washed away all my sin. And you have made me born again.
