And I'm 19, I go to Texas State University, and I run track too. We actually met in high school, and we just got really close and became really good friends. Yeah, so we had like trade-in together and everything like that. We traded, lost like $3,000, just losing money every day. We built the app in like two weeks. And the first month we made $10,000. We were like, okay, we got some. Damn. This is sick, you guys are crushing it. I mean, $70,000 in six months is insane. Yeah.

Let's talk about how you actually built the app. I know you guys don't have coding experience. So I'd love if you guys could just like show me how you did that. Like what tools do you use? How do you build an app that makes $70,000? So we went to Rourke and we literally just talked to it like chatgbt. We tell it, hey, we want the UI interface to be so-and-so. We're telling it things like this and it's just adding it. Back in the day, you'd have to scan 300 lines of code, find the exact code, change it. You don't have to do that. It does it for you.

Then you use Claude, Co-Work, and Claude Code to verify it. So anytime we're having hiccups or we're stuck on something, we go to Claude and we have Claude help us verify it. So you're using Roark and using Claude. What other tools are you guys using, whether it's AI tools or not, like RevenueCat? Walk me through all the tools you guys use. We probably use RevenueCat, AppleDev, Claude, Roark. And Superbasis. I know for a fact you can build an app and have it in the App Store less than $500.

We're here on campus, you guys are student athletes and students. Yes sir. Let's talk about ideas. How did you come up with the idea and how did you know it was something that could make money? What we did is we found a niche that not a lot of people were in. We realized a lot of people run track, but there's no apps for track and field specifically. So we said, let's put our app when we already have influence right in the niche. And that's exactly what we did. We had built up hundreds of thousands of followers in track and field alone with our videos, no marketing.

And we were subliminally putting 3AK in our videos before we even dropped the app. Because we had the Shopify store, the e-commerce, so we'd be like, 3AK method in a website, this and that, we'd have it in our bio. Then we just dropped the app, it just blew up.

Let's talk about the actual app that you guys built. What is the app that made $70,000? Could you show it to me? Basically, this is the only track and field app that tracks your workouts, tracks your forms, has a community so you can track your progress. Nice. Analyzes your videos, analyzes your actual meals to make sure you're eating the right things. We have our $10 a month subscription and a $30 yearly subscription. We've done a lot of testing with our yearly package because we know the yearly to monthly subscription isn't that much. But you have to remember, our demographic is young kids. They're not going to spend $60, $70 on a training program.

We didn't sleep for like four days. Four days straight. We were in the same day. Literally, that was when we were both working at least 50, 60-hour days. So the way we do it is, since he's still in school, I'm not in school anymore. He'll basically do his school stuff, I'll work, and if I'm tired, he'll work. So we basically kind of take shifts on it. That's why you cannot be a solo founder. If you're in school and you're a solo founder, just chalk it one last year. I'm sorry, because it's just so hard. Sick, guys. That was awesome.

Tell me a little bit more about your guys' background. I'm from a little town in Texas, well, Katy, Texas, kind of right by Houston. We moved when I was like 14. My dad died when I was 15. So it was only my mom. So I had to work to get everything by myself. Last year I was dead broke and we just had to come up with something. So God put us in the right hands, gave us a platform and we just utilized it. So now we're living pretty good. Like we don't have to struggle anymore. Bill's always paid. Getting cars is just good.

Like, I feel like a lot of people see me in his life now and think we always had it good when it really wasn't like that. Like, my mom passed away when I was 12. Nobody really knows that. A lot of my motivation is because I don't want to be in a place in life where I'm not happy. Money is cool, but money should never be the motivating factor. It should always be the life you want to live.

Like how do you structure your days? I'll wake up round nine, work until practice. If I go to practice, go to practice, go home, do it until about three in the morning and do it all again.

I'm a little more busier. I wake up probably around 8 o'clock. I'll go to my first class. Then after 8 o'clock, I'll go to the cafeteria. Then I end up going to practice. Straight as soon as I'm done with practice, go straight to the office, just working. Just working and working and working all night. So like in between class, I'll hop on a call. In between going to the cafe, I'll hop on a call. I'll call and be like, what are we working on today? What's good and what's bad? So you have to have a passion for it. But if you don't have a passion for something, you're not going to be successful like that. Yeah.

Exactly. Last question that we ask everyone who comes on to start a story. A lot of people watching this want to build apps. What would be like the one piece of advice you could leave people that are watching this that want to make money building apps? Every time I'm talking to somebody like, how can I do entrepreneurship? How can I do something? I always tell them, do something that you already do in your day-to-day life and make it profitable. Make, monetize it. If you like playing video games all day, monetize video games. If you like cooking for people, monetize cooking for people.

Do things you're already passionate about and you like doing because you're going to do them way longer in the same niche than somebody who's just doing them for the money. The best way I see to find an app is if you have a problem in that day, think for the future. Think, OK, I'll probably have this problem in the future. So how can I solve this problem now for in the future? I'll be happier. That's the best way to find an app.
