Because there are believers that follow Jesus as long as the gold dust is falling 62 00:04:23.020 --> 00:04:30.220 on their head. It's a sunny day. It's 75 degrees and the Vespa works. 63 00:04:31.180 --> 00:04:35.980 Then God is great and awesome and all-powerful and is amazing. 64 00:04:35.980 --> 00:04:46.540 And then there are those who, and I've known them, who have suffered unspeakable pain and 65 00:04:46.780 --> 00:04:56.140 injury from disease and cancer and things like that, who, by the way, in my life have been the 66 00:04:56.140 --> 00:05:04.780 most powerful Christians I have ever experienced. So I have a biblical base to what I'm going to 67 00:05:04.780 --> 00:05:11.260 talk about. At the same time, as of course the topic demands, there's a temptation for emotion to 68 00:05:11.260 --> 00:05:20.540 get involved because I'll mention one person and look, she's in heaven now, but for decades, 69 00:05:21.420 --> 00:05:27.660 a friend of ours, Terry Vella, at Cambridge Apple Coast to Mesa suffered unspeakable sufferings 70 00:05:27.660 --> 00:05:33.340 in pain. But if anyone's watching this podcast and they know they knew Terry Vella, 71 00:05:33.420 --> 00:05:39.260 they knew that she was one of, if not the most godly woman that they had ever met. 72 00:05:40.620 --> 00:05:45.580 No one prayed more, no one exhibited more joy, no one was thankful more. 73 00:05:46.860 --> 00:05:55.100 Terry has been an amazing example of how to suffer. But you might say, well, Jack, that's terrible. 74 00:05:55.100 --> 00:06:00.220 She didn't have enough faith because she should have been healed. I understand you saying that, 75 00:06:00.220 --> 00:06:03.980 but you need to know why you're saying that. And the reason why you're saying that, you believe 76 00:06:03.980 --> 00:06:09.900 that is because you have believed and you are believing in heresy. That is heretical doctrine. 77 00:06:09.900 --> 00:06:18.140 Does God heal? Yes. Are there times when God chooses not to heal? Yes. Is God sovereign? Yes. 78 00:06:18.140 --> 00:06:25.740 Does God do what we tell him to do? No. Prayer and even prayer for healing is to be done in faith, 79 00:06:26.700 --> 00:06:33.660 believing that God has the power to heal, thanking him for what he does. And all of it culminates in, 80 00:06:33.660 --> 00:06:39.820 are you ready for it? Are you ready? Really? Are you ready for it? I know there's world renowned pastors who will say, 84 00:07:02.140 --> 00:07:08.460 Jack, you're wrong because I'm a world renowned pastor. And I know better. That's too bad. I know 85 00:07:08.460 --> 00:07:14.380 that God heals. And Jesus gets the glory. Let's jump into some of these and you can study them for 86 00:07:15.340 --> 00:07:21.740 your own edification. John chapter nine versus one through five. John chapter nine versus one 87 00:07:21.740 --> 00:07:30.540 through five. Jesus is of course ministering. Number one, always preaching the gospel, 88 00:07:31.420 --> 00:07:37.180 always preaching the gospel first and then ministering among the sick. And the Bible tells us 89 00:07:37.260 --> 00:07:44.300 that there was a man who was blind and Jesus healed him of him being blind. And of course the 90 00:07:44.300 --> 00:07:55.500 Pharisees are always following Jesus. Black robes, black tablets, black hearts, just wicked little 91 00:07:57.100 --> 00:08:02.460 spiritual nincompoops, always trying to find faults. And those people exist today by the way. 92 00:08:02.460 --> 00:08:08.860 But the Bible says that they hated Jesus for his miracles and for declaring that he was God. 93 00:08:08.860 --> 00:08:15.420 They wanted to stone him to death. So Jesus encounters this man and he opens his eyes. Jesus 94 00:08:15.420 --> 00:08:21.260 heals the man of blindness. And so the disciples and others have been conditioned to thank 95 00:08:22.060 --> 00:08:32.380 wow, regarding this guy that's blind. Who sinned that he may that he's blind? Is it him or is 96 00:08:32.380 --> 00:08:38.700 it his mom and dad? Notice this. Wow, the guy's blind. He must be a really bad center right or his 97 00:08:38.700 --> 00:08:47.180 parents are really messed up. And Jesus said he didn't sin nor did his parents sin to bring about 98 00:08:47.180 --> 00:08:59.020 this blindness. But this man is blind for the glory of God. If God heals, it's going to be His sovereign 117 00:10:53.660 --> 00:11:00.300 choice, but you cannot schedule a revival. You can't schedule a salvation. You can't schedule a 118 00:11:00.300 --> 00:11:05.820 healing. This would rob God of his sovereignty, okay? Now, get to some of these other verses that 119 00:11:05.820 --> 00:11:10.780 you're already starting to get all sweaty about and upset about, but just know this. 120 00:11:10.780 --> 00:11:19.820 In the last days, greed is going to be the motive for people to preach bogus messages about 121 00:11:19.900 --> 00:11:28.780 Christ and poor sermons, but they're going to titillate and tantalize people by demonic activity. 122 00:11:28.780 --> 00:11:33.820 But the bottom line for the human is greed. I want to make money. Notice how many of these 123 00:11:33.820 --> 00:11:39.260 really super duper rich people that are in the ministry traffic around the healing circuit. 124 00:11:39.980 --> 00:11:47.020 But notice how they don't go where there's no money. You don't see them in the dust fields of 125 00:11:47.020 --> 00:11:55.500 Ethiopia or in Uganda or Nigeria. You don't see them in the impoverished regions of Vietnam. Do 126 00:11:55.500 --> 00:12:01.340 you? You want to know why God's not healing in those countries? Because there's no money in it 127 00:12:01.340 --> 00:12:07.660 for the greedy guy. I was being sarcastic. I know God heals in those terrible places, but the 128 00:12:07.660 --> 00:12:12.620 greedy guy, he doesn't want to go there because there's not enough money for him. Here's one of my favorites of all time because it happened to me. Mark chapter 7 135 00:12:51.500 --> 00:13:00.700 verses 31 to 37, Mark 7, 31 to 37 is a situation there where this guy who's got some very good 136 00:13:00.700 --> 00:13:07.900 friends, bring him to Jesus. You kind of get the feeling the guy doesn't want to go anywhere 137 00:13:07.900 --> 00:13:14.940 and I get it. But they bring him to Jesus and Jesus takes the young man, I assume he's a young man, 138 00:13:14.940 --> 00:13:21.260 doesn't say. Jesus takes the man and takes him off to the side and away from the people. 139 00:13:21.500 --> 00:13:30.780 And Jesus does a series of actions that are quite remarkable because the man cannot speak, 140 00:13:31.660 --> 00:13:37.260 he can only make what the Bible says in the Greek language very strange sounds. 141 00:13:41.500 --> 00:13:48.300 He can't hear and he can't speak. Maybe the man read his lips because Jesus spoke Arabic. 148 00:14:43.420 --> 00:14:47.580 And the Bible says that immediately the man could hear and he could speak plainly. 149 00:14:48.220 --> 00:14:54.700 And the Bible says Jesus told him, don't tell anybody I just did this miracle. It was awesome. He does all things well. Matthew 13 verses 57 and 58. The Bible tells us 156 00:15:37.020 --> 00:15:43.500 that Jesus could not do any miracles in his hometown of Nazareth because the people did not have 157 00:15:43.500 --> 00:15:49.660 faith in him. They didn't believe in him. And so he wanted to do miracles there, but the people 158 00:15:49.660 --> 00:15:59.340 didn't believe in him. I find that interesting. Jesus doesn't just roll into town and do anything 159 00:15:59.340 --> 00:16:06.700 against the will of people. Notice there are people that Jesus healed who had fears and doubts. 160 00:16:07.980 --> 00:16:15.020 Remember, he even said to many, only believe. I didn't know that. She was in the crowd. It was a Wednesday night. 166 00:16:52.940 --> 00:16:59.980 We were having an after-glow service and I just felt led by God to say this. And so I had to 167 00:16:59.980 --> 00:17:05.340 exercise this in faith because I didn't know. There's a couple thousand people sitting there. And I said, this might apply to somebody here if I'm hearing 169 00:17:11.180 --> 00:17:20.060 from God, but this thought just entered my head. And I made that statement and I found out on Sunday, the following Sunday 171 00:17:30.620 --> 00:17:34.860 that Judy came up to me crying at church. She's crying and she said, you won't believe what 172 00:17:34.860 --> 00:17:41.420 happened on Wednesday night. When you said what you said, I felt my right breast, it felt like 173 00:17:41.420 --> 00:17:47.580 there was a blowtorch of fire on my right breast. That's where I have the cancer. And I felt like I 174 00:17:47.580 --> 00:17:55.020 caught fire. And then I went to the doctor to my scheduled appointment on Tuesday and the cancer 175 00:17:55.020 --> 00:18:00.380 is completely gone. Pastor Jack, I was healed. Hey, that's awesome. And we gave God the glory. 176 00:18:00.380 --> 00:18:05.660 I believe that. I believe that. There's God always heal. And there was no pattern or, or, or consistency to this. But their 184 00:18:53.420 --> 00:19:01.100 belief was when the angel stirs up the water, the first guy in wins the prize. And the prize 185 00:19:01.100 --> 00:19:09.500 was healing. Really a weird thinking, right? But that's what they believed. And so, uh, Jesus walks 186 00:19:09.500 --> 00:19:15.340 by and he says to this guy that's crippled and he's got his little bed, his little homeless 187 00:19:15.340 --> 00:19:22.940 mat kind of a thing, right? Uh, Jesus says, um, do you want to be healed? And the guy's probably 188 00:19:22.940 --> 00:19:28.300 looking at Jesus. I could, what are you crazy? Of course I do. And Jesus tells him, uh, why, why 189 00:19:28.300 --> 00:19:33.660 don't you stand up? And he said, well, I can't get healed because I start making my way to the 190 00:19:33.660 --> 00:19:38.300 water when the angel moves the water. So I start making my way there and people cut in front of me. 191 00:19:38.380 --> 00:19:46.140 They take cuts. And I never make it in time. Can you give me to the water?
