And I have to tell you that it's something that in my opinion is either 13 00:01:07.560 --> 00:01:15.760 one way over emphasized or the pendulum swings to the other side and it's under, under 14 00:01:15.760 --> 00:01:24.760 disgust or under estimated. I'm reading out of Mark chapter 16 and in verse 12, the Bible says, 15 00:01:24.760 --> 00:01:31.760 after that, Jesus appeared in another form to two of them, that is two disciples, as they 16 00:01:31.760 --> 00:01:38.760 walked and went into the country. And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe 17 00:01:38.760 --> 00:01:45.760 them. I believe this is a parallel to Luke chapter 24, the famous road to Emmaus. Somebody 18 00:01:45.760 --> 00:01:51.760 may have a different opinion on that. It's okay. It's a peripheral thing. Verse 14, Luke chapter 16, 19 00:01:51.760 --> 00:01:59.760 verse 14, later he appeared to the 11 as they sat at the table and he rebuked their unbelief 20 00:01:59.760 --> 00:02:07.760 and hardness of heart because they did not believe those who had seen him after he had risen 21 00:02:08.760 --> 00:02:17.760 from the dead. And he said to them, listen, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every 22 00:02:17.760 --> 00:02:29.760 creature. And he who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will 23 00:02:29.760 --> 00:02:38.760 be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe in my name. They will cast out 24 00:02:38.760 --> 00:02:46.760 demons. They will speak with new tongues and they will take up serpents. And if they drink anything 25 00:02:46.760 --> 00:02:54.760 deadly, it will by no means hurt them. They will lay hands upon the sick and they will recover. 26 00:02:55.760 --> 00:03:02.760 So then after the Lord had spoken these words to them, he was received up into heaven and sat down 27 00:03:02.760 --> 00:03:10.760 at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere the Lord working with them, 28 00:03:10.760 --> 00:03:20.760 wow, and continuing in the word through the accompanying signs, amen. So few things to point out, 29 00:03:21.760 --> 00:03:29.760 signs and or miracles, the commissioning to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth and the calling 30 00:03:29.760 --> 00:03:38.760 of his disciples or apostles or believers to truly believe. He rebuked them for not believing. 31 00:03:38.760 --> 00:03:48.760 So let's talk about this real quick. I understand that there are those out there who say there's no 32 00:03:48.760 --> 00:03:54.760 miracles being done anymore. And they'll say things like, well, we have the Bible, the Bible is the 33 00:03:54.760 --> 00:03:59.760 complete revelation of God. And so there's no more miracles anymore. Okay, I don't know how they come 34 00:03:59.760 --> 00:04:06.760 to that conclusion. The Bible says in the book of Romans, the gifts and the callings of God are given 35 00:04:06.760 --> 00:04:16.760 without a rope, a rope. What's the word a rope ability? I can't even think of the word. He will not 36 00:04:16.760 --> 00:04:23.760 revoke them. That's the word. He will not revoke those. Having said that, notice that the end times 37 00:04:23.760 --> 00:04:31.760 promise from the birth of the church to the end of the age will be miracles, will accompanying the 38 00:04:31.760 --> 00:04:39.760 preaching of the gospel. And so you might be saying, Jack, you believe that? I believe that 100% I believe 39 00:04:39.760 --> 00:04:46.760 that. Right here in the Bible. And what are we doing today? We are preaching the gospel to all people 40 00:04:46.760 --> 00:04:55.760 all around the world. That's what we're doing. And so the fact is somebody might say, well, why aren't 41 00:04:55.760 --> 00:05:03.760 we seeing miracles? Wait a minute. We are seeing miracles. We see miracles. We're in ministry. We see 42 00:05:03.760 --> 00:05:09.760 miracles. Listen, sometimes God heals people miraculously. We've seen it happen. Sometimes God intervenes 43 00:05:09.760 --> 00:05:15.760 immediately. We've seen it happen. So it's not like he's not doing miracles. He's doing miracles. 44 00:05:15.760 --> 00:05:21.760 But you see in the West, we would say, well, we have a hard time believing because we don't see many 45 00:05:21.760 --> 00:05:29.760 miracles. In the West, we have an overabundance of having the Bible, the word of God. Notice that the 46 00:05:29.760 --> 00:05:41.760 Bible here says that the signs and wonders, right, are there to confirm the word of God. So the 47 00:05:41.760 --> 00:05:51.760 word of God is preached to those who are in the world. And should you invite them in the world? Hey, follow 48 00:05:51.760 --> 00:05:58.760 miracles. Don't the the the gospel's a side note. The doctrines of the Bible, reading to the Bible, don't 49 00:05:58.760 --> 00:06:06.760 get too caught up in it. Don't get too serious about that. But go ape crazy about pursuing miracles, 50 00:06:06.760 --> 00:06:15.240 signs and wonders. You go for it. Don't do that. Number one, the word of God trumps all signs and 51 00:06:15.240 --> 00:06:21.800 wonders. It's the signs and wonders that when it's preached to an unbelieving culture, 52 00:06:22.760 --> 00:06:29.560 shows the power of the word of God. Jesus even said, listen, the miracles that I've done, 53 00:06:30.520 --> 00:06:35.400 they should tell you, they should communicate to you that I've come from the Father. The Father 54 00:06:35.400 --> 00:06:41.080 did not send the Son Jesus Christ into the world to do miracles. He sent the Lord Jesus Christ 55 00:06:41.080 --> 00:06:46.280 into the world to die for our sins and to be resurrected. And that's the gospel we preach. 56 00:06:47.080 --> 00:06:56.120 But when you go to the orient or where you go to areas of the world where there is 57 00:06:57.480 --> 00:07:04.840 no gospel light where the word of God is either illegal or it's suppressed, you'll hear 58 00:07:04.840 --> 00:07:11.720 tremendous reports of miracles. For example, there are more miracles that we're hearing about coming 59 00:07:11.720 --> 00:07:17.880 predominantly out of the Muslim world right now. There are many, many, listen, don't fall for 60 00:07:17.880 --> 00:07:26.120 the propaganda trash. The world is not getting converted to Islam. Muslims are getting converted 61 00:07:26.120 --> 00:07:31.320 to Christ. And Islam is panicking about that right now. That's why they're making such a ruckus 62 00:07:31.320 --> 00:07:38.040 and trying to project themselves as being so, so dominant. It's not the case. The truth of 63 00:07:38.120 --> 00:07:43.240 the matter is, friends, listen, does God do miracles? Yes. Is he doing them still? Yes. 64 00:07:44.440 --> 00:07:51.880 Then why don't I see any? When you come and you preach the resurrection of Jesus Christ and then you lay 71 00:08:27.480 --> 00:08:33.240 hands on the sick and pray for them, don't be surprised if God heals them most likely in such 72 00:08:33.240 --> 00:08:39.240 settings. He often does move in a miraculous way. But do know this. He will not always do it 73 00:08:39.240 --> 00:08:45.880 just like Jesus didn't always do it in the gospels. In fact, one of the gospels tells us that when 74 00:08:45.880 --> 00:08:51.800 Jesus was in the region of Galilee, the Scripture tells us that he couldn't do many miracles in that 75 00:08:51.800 --> 00:08:59.320 village in that town due to the people's unbelief. They wouldn't believe the message of the gospel and thus Christ did now are very few 77 00:09:07.000 --> 00:09:14.280 miracles there. Interesting. So don't become those in the last days that are pursuing signs and 78 00:09:14.280 --> 00:09:22.360 wonders. A very, very illustrious, extravagant, deep knowledge of the Bible. 85 00:10:05.480 --> 00:10:11.400 How's that achieved? By not going to seminary, that's for sure. You don't have to go to some Bible 86 00:10:11.400 --> 00:10:18.840 university. That's for sure. God made it available to you and I and that is read your Bible. Hey, God, can you compete with Mickey Mouse? Hey, God, can you compete against the LA 102 00:11:58.840 --> 00:12:05.560 Rams or the Los Angeles Chargers or the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Los Angeles Angels? Can you 103 00:12:05.560 --> 00:12:12.840 compete against Disneyland Nutsbury Farm medieval times? You see what I'm saying? It's crazy. So 104 00:12:12.840 --> 00:12:18.920 now we've got a culture of, hey, Jesus, what can you do for me? Didn't they? That's the corruption of the human heart. Friends, listen, if you can be 107 00:12:36.040 --> 00:12:43.320 swayed by a miracle to think about Christ, you can also be swayed by a false miracle to denounce 108 00:12:43.320 --> 00:12:50.200 Christ or to walk away from Christ. Could God heal your dad and that causes him to have faith and he bows down to Jesus? Which is the more important healing.
