We're going to start reading for verse 24. Before I get into Matthew chapter 7, can I talk a little bit about the verses here in Matthew? 45 00:05:35.000 --> 00:05:42.000 Because in order to understand Matthew chapter 7, we have to actually go back to Matthew chapter 5 and Matthew chapter 6. 46 00:05:42.000 --> 00:05:51.000 Because Matthew chapter 5, Matthew chapter 6, Matthew chapter 7 is a collection of sermons that Jesus preached called the sermon on the... 47 00:05:51.000 --> 00:06:00.000 Okay, y'all know the word. These three chapters are, as Jesus sermon, he talks about all different types of topics in these three chapters. 48 00:06:00.000 --> 00:06:07.000 When I mean he goes in depth in these three chapters to talk about all types of things in the kingdom. He talks about the kingdom of God. 49 00:06:07.000 --> 00:06:15.000 He talks about the fruit in people's lives. He talks about fasting. He talks about giving. He talks about prayer. The Lord's prayer is in this. 50 00:06:15.000 --> 00:06:23.000 This is probably the greatest collection of sermons Jesus preachers right here in this text. 51 00:06:23.000 --> 00:06:36.000 And you know anything, if you don't think about good preaching or you know anything about a good preacher is that a good preacher usually saves the best point for last when they want to put the bow on their sermon. 52 00:06:36.000 --> 00:06:48.000 When they want to bring up a point of emphasis, they bring it until the last moment. And so even though Jesus brings up all these amazing topics about the kingdom, even though he brings up all these amazing sermons and all these amazing points. 53 00:06:48.000 --> 00:06:57.000 His last point, I think it's the most powerful and pointed point. And that's in Matthew chapter 7. His last point actually starts at verse 14. 54 00:06:57.000 --> 00:07:08.000 Not verse 24. Why are we not reading verse 14? Because I'm just going to tell you about it. But it starts at verse 14. And Jesus does this thing where he talks about two different groups of people. 55 00:07:08.000 --> 00:07:14.000 And he keeps the theme going for three different examples. The first group of people that he talks about. 56 00:07:14.000 --> 00:07:21.000 He talks about the first those that go through the wide gate and those that go through the. 57 00:07:21.000 --> 00:07:32.000 Okay, y'all read the Bible here. Then he talks about the second group of people. And the second group of people he talks about is those that bear good through and those that bear. 58 00:07:32.000 --> 00:07:45.000 Then he talks about one last group of people. And that's here in Matthew chapter 7 verse 24. And he's about to end his whole entire. His whole entire sermon. His whole entire message. 59 00:07:45.000 --> 00:07:52.000 He's about to end it right here right here with this point. And he's like, if you get this point, then you got the entire sermon. 60 00:07:52.000 --> 00:07:59.000 And you get this point, then you get what I'm saying through five, six, and seven. And you get this last point. 61 00:07:59.000 --> 00:08:06.000 You're going to build a spiritual house in a spiritual foundation that no matter what the enemy brings against you in 2026. 62 00:08:06.000 --> 00:08:10.000 You're going to win and conquer and have victory. 63 00:08:10.000 --> 00:08:20.000 And these last few verses, Jesus lays the point for us to say, here's where the blessing comes. Look what it says. Matthew chapter 7 verse 24 says, 64 00:08:20.000 --> 00:08:30.000 Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man. So he talks about two different people. 65 00:08:30.000 --> 00:08:46.000 A wise man. And uh, see, y'all sounded good today. The wise man, what does he do? The Bible says he builds his house on a rock. 66 00:08:46.000 --> 00:08:59.000 Verse 25. The rains came. The floods came. The winds blew and beat on that house. And it did not fall for it was founded on the verse 26. 67 00:08:59.000 --> 00:09:09.000 But everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does not. So here is not enough. Come on. Come on. 68 00:09:09.000 --> 00:09:18.000 So a lot of us here, but the reason why our spiritual foundation is faulty is because you're not doing anything. 69 00:09:18.000 --> 00:09:31.000 Tell me church attendance and checking off the box. But God, I want to church 52 out of 52. It don't matter as much as you doing. 70 00:09:31.000 --> 00:09:41.000 It will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house. 71 00:09:41.000 --> 00:09:51.000 And it fell and great was its fall. Can I just say something right here? There's two things that I realized in this story, two things that I see that's very clear. 72 00:09:51.000 --> 00:10:01.000 The first thing is that they both built something. It wasn't that one built and the other one didn't build. They both built something. 73 00:10:01.000 --> 00:10:12.000 But it wasn't that one built and the other didn't build. It was that one built on something that had foundation and the other one built on something that had no foundation. 74 00:10:12.000 --> 00:10:22.000 Can I tell you the second thing that I see very clearly in this story? The second thing, and I need you to take this into 20-26, because tell me, because I say yes to Jesus, everything is going to be great in my life. 75 00:10:22.000 --> 00:10:32.000 I'm not going to go through anything. I'm not going to go through trials. I'm not going to go through storms. I'm not going to go through testing. The enemy's not going to attack me. The devil is a liar. 76 00:10:32.000 --> 00:10:43.000 That doesn't mean that. Here's what it means. It tells you both of them went through the rains, the floods, the wind, but one of them was able to stand in the midst of it. 77 00:10:43.000 --> 00:10:51.000 And the other one was faulty and fleshly and unable to stand because their foundation was not on the rock. 78 00:10:52.000 --> 00:11:09.000 So I want to employ you in 20-26. Not to just build, but to build on the rock. Not to just build, but build on the word. Not to just build, but build on the promises of God. Not to just build, but build so you can last. 79 00:11:10.000 --> 00:11:19.000 You're not going to start 20-26 strong and mighty and then fall throughout the middle of it. No, because your house is going to be built on the rock. 80 00:11:19.000 --> 00:11:26.000 So that means when storms come and when trials come and when testing comes and when tribulation comes, you're going to remain standing in 20-26. 81 00:11:26.000 --> 00:11:43.000 You're going to walk out of this year even stronger than you began. You're going to walk out of this year with more power, with more prosperity, with more favor, with more grace, with more open doors, with more friendships, with more community, with more love, with more grace, with more joy. 82 00:11:43.000 --> 00:11:52.000 I just need three people to stand with me who believe it. I'm stepping into 20-26 stronger. 83 00:11:53.000 --> 00:12:02.000 Can I tell you three things that you cannot build on for this year if you want your spiritual house to be strong? Is that cool, everyone? 84 00:12:02.000 --> 00:12:17.000 I was going to do it anyway. Here's the first thing. The first thing is that you can't build 20-26 on resolutions but on revelation. 85 00:12:17.000 --> 00:12:24.000 I'm going to say it again because I'm y'all didn't catch it. You can't build 20-26 off resolutions alone but revelation. 86 00:12:24.000 --> 00:12:36.000 A lot of you, you start your year. I got a resolution every year for the last 15 years. I'm a lose weight. First month, you're in the gym every day. 87 00:12:36.000 --> 00:12:43.000 Ooh, boy. You're the boss of your class. You're like, gee, you're doing everything. Pilates. 88 00:12:43.000 --> 00:13:02.000 But guess what? By the time February goes, now I'm just going to the gym once a week. March comes, April comes, you need to be resurrected. 89 00:13:03.000 --> 00:13:09.000 Then you end up in year way more than you started. 90 00:13:09.000 --> 00:13:21.000 I'm not criticizing resolutions. Resolutions aren't core and it's good to make a decision and a choice about something and to stick with it. 91 00:13:21.000 --> 00:13:27.000 It's not a criticism of resolutions but most of you have more resolutions and you do revelation. 92 00:13:28.000 --> 00:13:36.000 Some of y'all are excited about it because you don't know what revelation is. Revelation meets a word from God about your situation. 93 00:13:36.000 --> 00:13:46.000 Simply, revelation is, what is God saying to me about my situation? What is God saying to me about my family? What is God saying to me about my finances? 94 00:13:46.000 --> 00:13:54.000 What is God saying to me about my career? What is God saying to me about my business? What is God saying to me about my mental health? What is God saying to me about my body? 95 00:13:54.000 --> 00:14:00.000 What is God saying to me about what I eat? What is God saying to me about how I dress? What is God saying to me about my friendship? 96 00:14:00.000 --> 00:14:06.000 What is God saying to me about my relationship? What is God saying to me about my marriage? What is God saying to me about my future? 97 00:14:06.000 --> 00:14:14.000 What is God saying to me about my past? That's what revelation is. Getting a word from God about your situation. 98 00:14:15.000 --> 00:14:28.000 And the problem with some people I realize is they have more resolutions than they do revelation which means they know everything they want to do but they don't know about what God wants them to do. 99 00:14:29.000 --> 00:14:39.000 The problem with this generation was so self-indulged that it's about I want to get there and I want to do this and I want to do that. What does God want you to do? 100 00:14:39.000 --> 00:14:47.000 Getting a revelation means heaven, I'm going to have heaven's perspective about a situation instead of my own perspective. 101 00:14:47.000 --> 00:15:00.000 I want to think heaven's mentality instead of earthly cardinal mentality. I want to think God if you want me to be the biggest giver in this church then I'm going to do it because I want to live by revelation. 102 00:15:00.000 --> 00:15:07.000 A resolution will keep you at a limited place but a revelation will help you expand. 103 00:15:07.000 --> 00:15:18.000 The resolution says I just have to do this much and I'm good and I met my goal and sometimes God will give you a revelation that actually supersedes your resolution. 104 00:15:18.000 --> 00:15:26.000 Sometimes God will say I want you to give double then you thought you could give. Sometimes God will say I want you to expand your business at a greater place than you even thought. 105 00:15:26.000 --> 00:15:37.000 You need a revelation. I refuse to just stick in having a resolution and not having a revelation because anything you're going to build for God demands revelation. 106 00:15:37.000 --> 00:15:44.000 It demands a word from God and can I tell you something? Don't dare build anything without a revelation. 107 00:15:44.000 --> 00:15:55.000 You want to know the quickest way for whatever you're building to fall and to falter and to have no stability is when you build it based of your own flesh and your own fleshly endeavors. 108 00:15:55.000 --> 00:16:05.000 But when you get a word from God, when you get a word from the throne room of grace, when you get a word from the king of glory, there's nothing that can stop your building at that moment. 109 00:16:05.000 --> 00:16:15.000 Once you get a word from heaven, there's no attack that can stop you. There's no warfare that can come against you. Even yourself, you can't stop you when you get a word from God. 110 00:16:15.000 --> 00:16:24.000 You got to look at yourself and say, Stealth, you got no power. God's words supersedes my feelings. 111 00:16:25.000 --> 00:16:33.000 Alright, let's open up. Matthew chapter 16, I need you to see this verse. You need a revelation. If you're going to build anything, you need a revelation. 112 00:16:33.000 --> 00:16:40.000 So you got resolutions. Cool. Stick with the resolutions. But make sure the resolutions are in line with the revelation. 113 00:16:41.000 --> 00:16:48.000 The resolutions are cool. But as long as it comes from a place and resolutions are so easy to let go of. 114 00:16:48.000 --> 00:17:02.000 Because there's nothing holding it at the foundation. Revelation goes, God has said this. God promised me this. God said my family was going to be blessed. 115 00:17:03.000 --> 00:17:11.000 God said salvation was going to come to my children. God said that he was going to turn things around in my body. And sickness was not going to take over me. 116 00:17:11.000 --> 00:17:27.000 So you got to have a revelation about your body. And it can't come from the doctors. No doctors giving me a revelation about my body. They can tell me you're sick. That's not the revelation that I believe. 117 00:17:28.000 --> 00:17:37.000 That's a word from them. If you get, let me tell you, what's going to happen is that you're going to get a revelation from God and you're going to get contradiction on the other side. 118 00:17:37.000 --> 00:17:43.000 And you're going to have to make a decision what you're going to believe.
