I know that we normally say happy Easter. I don't like 13 00:01:08.760 --> 00:01:14.360 saying Easter. It's connected to Ishtar and the bunnies and all that stuff. I hope that's the goal anyway. I mean, not only are you dead physically, but there are many 20 00:02:01.000 --> 00:02:08.040 who teach that you die spiritually. You go into what is known as annihilation. There are 21 00:02:08.040 --> 00:02:15.320 some cults that teach this that when you die, it's over, which is absolutely hilarious. If you 22 00:02:15.320 --> 00:02:21.160 think about their doctrine, they want you to join their so-called church or team. They want you 23 00:02:21.160 --> 00:02:25.800 to give money to them so they can advance their message. They want you to be a good disciple 24 00:02:26.520 --> 00:02:32.760 of the messaging. And yet there's zero hope in the message. Isn't that strange? Everything 25 00:02:32.760 --> 00:02:38.760 about that? Oh, join our team. Commit yourself to what we're preaching and doing. We believe in God. We believe in morality. We believe in the 10 commandments. We 41 00:04:23.720 --> 00:04:31.880 believe in our Old Testament scriptures. But life after death, eternity with God, resurrection 42 00:04:31.880 --> 00:04:39.480 of the body. I know as Jews, we say we believe that, but why do we? And of course, as Christians, 43 00:04:39.480 --> 00:04:47.640 we absolutely do and we have the reason why. But I want you to think a few thoughts that you 44 00:04:47.640 --> 00:04:54.840 ought to get answered just for fun. Let's just, let's just take this moment to be a curious. How 45 00:04:54.840 --> 00:05:00.280 about that? So the Bible speaks about everlasting life. The Bible speaks about eternal life. The 46 00:05:00.280 --> 00:05:09.640 Bible speaks about God's kingdom being established forever. God talks about his rule and reign from 47 00:05:09.640 --> 00:05:17.240 Jerusalem forever. And that, my friend, is just out of the Old Testament. Okay. This is important 48 00:05:19.000 --> 00:05:23.720 because we've got things that we need to have answered. Regarding the prophecies that are in the Bible, Old Testament, 50 00:05:31.640 --> 00:05:41.480 why are the prophecies prophesying a kingdom that will be forever? God will be upon his throne 51 00:05:41.480 --> 00:05:47.400 that there's a separation between those who believe in him and those who do not. Why does the 52 00:05:47.400 --> 00:05:54.120 Bible prophesy that there's going to be a day of judgment for the wicked and a day of reward 53 00:05:55.080 --> 00:06:01.640 for the believing righteous? It all starts in Genesis chapter 3 verse 15 where there, 54 00:06:01.640 --> 00:06:08.600 God is speaking to Adam and Eve and the serpent, Satan. And the promise is given of salvation that 55 00:06:08.600 --> 00:06:16.360 would come through the woman, the female, in Genesis 3, 15 that in fact the Messiah would eventually 56 00:06:16.440 --> 00:06:24.440 come out of the life of Eve herself that someday the descendant, a descendant of Eve would have to 57 00:06:24.440 --> 00:06:31.640 be a female and that female would have to be one who gives birth to the Messiah. All that is in 58 00:06:31.640 --> 00:06:40.840 Genesis 3, 15. One verse. And I'm going to argue with you today that Genesis 3, 15 demands resurrection, 59 00:06:41.560 --> 00:06:46.280 demands it. Of course there's other scriptures of the Old Testament, but there's a lot of 60 00:06:47.720 --> 00:06:53.720 there's a lot of assumptions made in the Old Testament where, for example, in the beginning, 61 00:06:53.720 --> 00:06:59.400 God created the heavens and the earth. Verse 2 is not an argument. Verse 2 doesn't say you want to 62 00:06:59.400 --> 00:07:06.040 think about that for a little while. Genesis 1, 1, God drops the bomb of fact in the beginning that 63 00:07:06.040 --> 00:07:14.760 is the physical beginning that which is created in the beginning, God created the heavens and the 64 00:07:14.760 --> 00:07:21.480 earth. That's a statement of fact. God doesn't leave it open for debate. God doesn't struggle with 65 00:07:21.480 --> 00:07:27.400 Darwinianism. It's a fact. Well, here's some other facts that I want to argue with you on this 66 00:07:27.400 --> 00:07:34.920 resurrection weekend. Why the atonement? If there is no resurrection of life, then why throughout the 67 00:07:34.920 --> 00:07:42.280 Bible, Old and New Testament is their necessity of atonement, meaning we have to find innocent blood 68 00:07:43.080 --> 00:07:51.160 to mitigate our sins, remove our sins, cover our sins, or else we're in trouble. If there's no 69 00:07:51.160 --> 00:07:56.360 resurrection from the dead, then who cares about atonement? If you're going to say, well, we need 70 00:07:56.360 --> 00:08:01.880 atonement because every year we'd have to do this to keep and maintain our relationship with God, 71 00:08:02.760 --> 00:08:09.480 who cares? If you're going to die and go into an eternity, that doesn't matter. So why would 72 00:08:09.480 --> 00:08:15.560 atonement matter if there's no resurrection? I'm even going to resurrect the heavens. 81 00:09:15.160 --> 00:09:23.400 How about this? If there's no resurrection, then why did Job, the oldest book in the 82 00:09:23.400 --> 00:09:32.360 Bible? Why did Job say, listen, Job said, when I die, my flesh is going to turn to dust. But 83 00:09:33.160 --> 00:09:42.280 there's a day coming when I will stand before my maker. In that day, I know that I will see God 84 00:09:42.280 --> 00:09:50.760 in my flesh. That's the book of Job, the oldest book in the Bible. Jesus said, if somebody dies believing in me yet shall he live. The Bible says 88 00:10:12.040 --> 00:10:17.480 that Jesus Christ will call forth the believers at the time of the rapture. Those that have died in 89 00:10:17.480 --> 00:10:23.880 Christ, their bodies will be resurrected. That's extremely consistent with Old Testament scripture. 90 00:10:25.480 --> 00:10:34.840 Isaiah chapter 26 verses 19 to 21 speaks about resurrection. So resurrection is not a new 91 00:10:34.840 --> 00:10:42.520 testament concoction. The resurrection is a new testament eyewitness account to an Old Testament 92 00:10:42.520 --> 00:10:50.680 promise. I would say without the resurrection, all is futile. If there's no resurrection, 93 00:10:50.680 --> 00:10:56.520 if Christ is not risen from the dead, if Christ couldn't raise Lazarus from the dead. Jack, you should talk about this, about that. 108 00:12:38.840 --> 00:12:43.720 Those are obvious things that you will know about, but I just wanted to point a few things out. 109 00:12:46.120 --> 00:12:52.680 Resurrection, what was behind in Genesis 22, when Abraham took Isaac to Mount Moriah, 110 00:12:53.640 --> 00:13:01.320 to offer him up as a sacrifice to God. The God of the Bible, the God of the Bible doesn't 111 00:13:01.320 --> 00:13:07.960 accept human sacrifice. So what's going on here? You say, what do you mean God doesn't accept 112 00:13:07.960 --> 00:13:13.960 human sacrifice? His son died on the cross, didn't he? Yes. Well, there you go. God doesn't accept human sacrifice. When Jesus died on the cross, he was human, 115 00:13:28.840 --> 00:13:38.600 but he was also 100% God. God took upon himself flesh and died in our place. But God 126 00:14:53.480 --> 00:15:03.240 stopped him. And in a thicket, in a bush, there was a ram stuck. And what's amazing before that 127 00:15:03.240 --> 00:15:09.240 happened, Isaac says father, here's the altar, here's the fire, here's the wood. Can you imagine that? And lo and behold, Abraham has stopped by the 130 00:15:24.520 --> 00:15:38.680 hand of God and sees a ram caught in the thicket. A ram is a male lamb. Daniel, book of Daniel, David, 3000 years ago in 135 00:16:12.440 --> 00:16:20.760 Psalm 16, David prophesied that God's anointed. Now that's a dual prophecy by the way. It's spoken 136 00:16:21.160 --> 00:16:26.840 to David, but it's a Messianic Psalm because it's regarding Messiah, who's our prototype. 137 00:16:26.840 --> 00:16:34.840 Jesus Christ is resurrected forever first. But I just want to stress to you that without 147 00:17:33.720 --> 00:17:41.880 resurrection, the Bible's futile, without resurrection, the Bible's meaningless. They don't think it's 149 00:17:47.160 --> 00:17:53.320 possible or they don't think it's necessary, whatever. I don't know. Without the resurrected Christ, I guess, okay, 151 00:18:02.040 --> 00:18:08.840 I guess I would read this book on how to have my, how to make good decisions.
